ಕೇವಲ ಎರಡೂವರೆ ಎಕರೆ ಜಾಗ. ಮಳೆಯಾಶ್ರಯದ ಭೂಮಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಳೆದಾರು ದಶಕಗಳಿಂದ, ಮನೆಮಂದಿಯ ಕೈ ದುಡಿಮೆಯಿಂದಲೇ ಕೃಷಿಯನ್ನು ಸಂಪನ್ನಗೊಳಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಹೊರಗಿನ ಸೌಲಭ್ಯಗಳಾದ ವಿದ್ಯುತ್, ರಾಸಾಯನಿಕ, ನೀರಾವರಿ, ಯಂತ್ರ, ದೂರವಾಣಿಗಳಿಂದೆಲ್ಲಾ ಉದ್ದೇಶಪೂರ್ವಕವಾಗಿ ದೂರ ಉಳಿದು, ಸ್ಥಳೀಯ ಬೆಳೆಗಳನ್ನು ಜಾಣ್ಮೆಯಿಂದ ಪೋಷಿಸುತ್ತ, ಭತ್ತದ ಕೃಷಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊಸತೊಂದು ಸಾಧ್ಯತೆಯನ್ನು ಕಂಡುಹಿಡಿದು, ನಾಡಿಗೆ ಪರಿಚಯಿಸಿ, ನೆಮ್ಮದಿಯ ಸುಂದರ ಜೀವನವನ್ನು ವಿನ್ಯಾಸಗೊಳಿಸಿದ, ಹೆಮ್ಮೆಯ ಹಿರಿಯ ಚೇತನ ಚೇರ್ಕಾಡಿ ರಾಮಚಂದ್ರ ರಾಯರಿಗೆ ಅಕ್ಷರ ನಮನ.* ಜನನ : 1919 * ಮರಣ: 21 ಫೆಬ್ರವರಿ 2010

A highly disciplined person. We spent half a day with him many years ago, when he was well into his 70's. His enthusiasm in showing us around his farm was contagious and before long we were drawn into his world of agriculture. It was a time well spent. He talked passionately about his various experiments around the farm. I was quite taken in by the pulley he had designed to draw water, though the name skips my memory.
may the kindly soul rest in Peace and his adoption of 'simple living' be an example for all of us to follow.
